Dear Parents,

Welcome to a new and what I anticipate to be a most exciting and successful school year. As we have completed out transition to eighth grade, PS/IS 180 truly sparkles and shines.

Your role as first teacher in our children’s lives is an essential one. Together we will work in concert to provide all students with an optimal enriching educational experience. Our programs are extensive and diverse. There is a program to address each of our children’s interests and talents. We also welcome you as integral partners in the educational process.

Please be encouraged to contact our Parent Coordinator to join out Learning Leaders Program and to become an active member of our Parent Leadership Academy. Please read all notices sent home, and make every effort to attend all PTA and school evening meetings. I also hope you will become a member of our PTA.

I salute your excellence as parents. The partnership we share is integral in ensuring academic and social achievement.

Our children are the jewels in our crown and together we will soar to astral heights on our 2008-2009 journey to greater excellence.

Very truly yours,

Gary M. Williams

Parent Coordinator’s Welcome

August 29th, 2008 Comments off

Dear Parents,

As Parent Coordinator of our school, I am excited to serve in this role and look forward to working with our Parents, Families, and the entire School Staff to increase Parental Involvement.

As we move forward in the school year, my goal is to provide parents with a “Voice” in their child’s education, and to address any key concerns you may be facing. One of the most important jobs we have is to help our children do well in school. Parents and Families play a vital part in the education process.

There are many opportunities for you to participate in your children’s learning experience either at home or on site throughout the year. The staff of PS/IS 180 welcomes and values your involvement. Even the smallest contribution makes a difference in the overall quality of education that our children receive.

Whether you are able to come to school on a weekly basic, help on filed trips or special activities, cut out labels at home or make sure that your own special student is ready for school each day, what you do is important! Volunteering is a great way to get involved, gain a sense of belonging to our school community, to meet new people and it’s “FUN”!

Remember… Parents and Teachers have the greatest influence on your lives. Be sure to make the most of every learning opportunity by working as partners here at Ps/IS 180.

I look forward to meeting you.
